Ingredients
Method
- Before You Begin
- Preheat and prepare your cookware as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your equipment and ingredients.
- Combine Ingredients
- Add pineapple, rice vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, chili paste, garlic, and ginger to a small saucepan.
- Simmer
- Place over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pineapple softens and releases its juices.
- Make Slurry
- In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch and water until completely smooth.
- Thicken Sauce
- Slowly stir the slurry into the saucepan. Cook for about 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and lightly coats the back of a spoon.
- Cool
- Remove from heat and Allow the sauce to cool slightly before transferring to a container. The sauce will thicken further as it rests.
- Store
- Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate.

• Sauce thickens further as it cools.
• Refrigerate within 2 hours in an airtight container up to 7 days.
