Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Method

  1. Before You Begin
  2. Prepare your slow cooker and ingredients as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your equipment and ingredients.
  3. In a large bowl, gently mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs, about 1 inch each.
  5. Arrange the meatballs in the slow cooker.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika until smooth.
  7. Pour the sauce evenly over the meatballs.
  8. Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through, tender, and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  9. Stir gently before serving to coat evenly with sauce.

Notes

  • • Cook meatballs until they reach 165°F (74°C) internally and are firm but tender.
    • Keep the lid closed during slow cooking to maintain steady heat.
    • Sauce may thicken during cooking; add a small splash of liquid if needed.
    • Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days.
    • Freeze cooked meatballs in a sealed container for up to 3 months.
    • Reheat gently until heated through and hot throughout before serving.
