Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 4 cups water or milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional Add-Ins:
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla extract
  • Maple syrup, honey, or brown sugar
  • Fresh or dried fruit
  • Nuts or seeds

Method

  2. Prepare your slow cooker and ingredients as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your equipment and ingredients.

  5. Cook
  6. Cook on LOW until oats are soft and creamy:
  7. Rolled oats: 4–5 hours
  8. Steel-cut oats: 7–8 hours
  9. Stir
  10. Stir oatmeal well before serving. Add warm liquid if needed for desired texture.
  11. Serve
  12. Serve warm with toppings as desired.

  14. Allow oatmeal to cool slightly and refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
