Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz egg noodles, (cooked according to package directions and drained)

Method

  1. Before You Begin
  2. Preheat and prepare your cookware as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your equipment and ingredients.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned and fully cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Add the chopped onion and cook 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well. Cook for about 1 minute.
  6. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring. Add Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard. Simmer 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Reduce heat and stir in the sour cream until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Add the cooked egg noodles and toss gently until evenly coated.
  9. Remove from heat and serve warm.

Notes

  • Cook beef fully until browned and no longer pink for safe consumption.
  • Stir while adding broth to maintain a smooth, lump-free sauce.
  • Add sour cream over low heat to prevent curdling and keep texture creamy.
  • Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours and store in an airtight container up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
