  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional
  • Lemon zest
  • Grated Parmesan
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Thyme or rosemary

Method

  1. Before You Begin
  2. Prepare your cookware as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your equipment and ingredients.
  3. Preheat Oven
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Prepare Asparagus
  6. Trim woody ends and pat spears completely dry to ensure proper roasting.
  7. Season
  8. Place asparagus on baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat evenly.
  9. Roast
  10. Spread in a single layer. Roast 10–15 minutes until spears are bright green, lightly browned at tips, and fork-tender.

Notes

  • Medium-thickness spears roast most evenly.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan or the asparagus may steam instead of roast.
  • Check early if using thin spears to prevent overcooking.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a hot oven or skillet briefly until warmed through.
