Before You Begin
Wash and dry herbs completely. Use freshly peeled garlic. Soften butter at room temperature for no more than 1 hour. Cooking and preparation results may vary depending on equipment.
Add basil leaves, crushed garlic, and black pepper to a food processor. Pulse until finely chopped.
Add the softened butter and pulse briefly until evenly combined. Avoid over-processing.
Transfer to an airtight container or shape into a log using plastic wrap.
Refrigerate until firm before using. Use clean utensils when serving.
