Before You Begin
Preheat and prepare your cookware as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your microwave wattage, mug size, and ingredient temperature. Use caution when handling hot mugs and steam.
Melt Butter
Place butter in a microwave-safe mug (12–16 oz capacity). Microwave 20–30 seconds or until melted. Carefully remove using a towel or oven mitt, as the mug may become hot.
Mix Cocoa and Sugar
Add cocoa powder and sugar. Stir thoroughly until smooth and no dry pockets remain.
Add Egg and Flavoring
Add egg, vanilla, and salt. Stir very well until the mixture is completely smooth with no visible egg streaks. This ensures the egg cooks evenly and safely during microwaving.
Microwave
Microwave 60–90 seconds.
