Before You Begin
Prepare your cookware as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your oven and the thickness of the fish fillets.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
Pat tilapia fillets dry with paper towels and place them in a single layer in the prepared dish.
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper until a paste forms.
Spread the spice mixture evenly over the fillets and drizzle with fresh lime juice.
Bake for about 12–15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque, flakes easily with a fork, and reaches a safe internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Cooking times may vary depending on thickness and oven performance.
Let rest briefly, then garnish with chopped cilantro and serve warm with lime wedges.
