Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 12–16 thin-cut bacon slices
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Salt (optional)

Method

  1. Before You Begin
  2. Prepare your cookware as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your equipment and ingredients.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment or foil.
  4. Rinse asparagus and pat completely dry. Trim woody ends.
  5. Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap one piece around each asparagus spear, spiraling gently without stretching. Place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  6. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and season with garlic powder and black pepper. Add salt only if desired.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 18–22 minutes, turning once halfway through, until bacon is crisp and asparagus is tender.
  8. Remove from oven and rest briefly before serving. Add optional garnishes if desired.
  9. Alternative Cooking Methods
  10. Air Fryer: Cook at 390°F (200°C) until bacon is crisp and asparagus is tender, turning once.
  11. Grill: Cook over medium-high heat, turning as needed, until bacon is crisp and asparagus is tender.

Notes

• Thin-cut bacon crisps faster and prevents asparagus from overcooking.
• Dry asparagus thoroughly before wrapping to avoid steaming.
• Leave space between spears for even roasting.
Storage
• Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours and store airtight up to 3 days.
Reheating
• Reheat gently in oven or air fryer until warmed through and bacon becomes crisp again.
