Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 slices thick-cut bread (Texas toast recommended)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray
  • Optional: shredded cheese, chives, red pepper flakes, parsley, avocado

Method

  1. Before You Begin:
  2. Preheat and prepare your cookware as needed. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your equipment and ingredients.
  3. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to help prevent sticking.
  4. Place the bread slices in the basket. Using the bottom of a small glass, gently press a shallow indent into the center of each slice.
  5. Carefully crack one egg into each indent. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Air fry at 340°F (170°C) for 7–9 minutes, or until the egg whites are fully set and no longer translucent, and the yolks reach your preferred doneness.
  7. If using cheese, add it during the last minute of cooking and heat until just melted.
  8. Carefully remove the toast with a spatula and serve warm with desired toppings.

Notes

  • Use thick-cut bread to support the egg and reduce sogginess.
  • Cooking times may vary by air fryer model; check early if needed.
  • Ensure egg whites are fully set before serving; adjust time for preferred yolk doneness.
  • Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in air fryer at 325–350°F (165–175°C) for 2–4 minutes until heated through.
  • Avoid microwaving to prevent rubbery texture.
  • Discard if smell, texture, or appearance changes.
